PTW is looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our team in Calgary, AB!

Reporting to the Manager, Payroll & Benefits, the Payroll Administrator performs basic payroll functions related to collecting, verifying, and processing payroll for salaried and hourly employees in a busy, high-volume environment. This role also completes administrative functions such as filing, data entry and keying of personnel information. 

A DAY IN THE LIFE...

  • Preparing and processing salary and hourly payrolls in multiple provinces.
  • Enter new hires, terminations, transfers, wage adjustments and any other changes for a high-volume payroll.
  • Updates, maintains, and distributes employee files, emergency contact forms and information.
  • Ensure updates and changes are entered correctly and in a timely fashion.
  • Professionally responds to inquiries and requests for information from employees and management.
  • Contacts managers and employees for additional information when required.
  • Generate ROE’s within payroll processing.
  • Complies with federal and provincial legislation.
  • Maintains confidential and accurate employee filing in line with the file retention policy.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of direct payroll experience preferably with multi-provincial, multi-cycle, high volumes payroll(s).
  • Experience in processing union payrolls is an asset, but not a requirement.
  • Completion of or working towards Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification an asset.
  • Highly organized with effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be extremely organized and reliable. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly excel and word.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, professionalism and confidentiality.
