POSITION

PTW is hiring WELDERS to join our team in Rockyview County, AB! If you are an experienced Structural Steel Welder, local to the area, and available to start immediately, we want to hear from you!

A DAY IN THE LIFE…

  • Reads and interprets blueprints or welding process specifications and welding symbols.
  • Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW).
  • Removes welds using the Air Arc Gouging process.
  • Completes assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications.
  • Accurately completes time sheets, weight sheets, hazard analysis sheets etc.
  • Operates manual flame-cutting equipment.
  • Adjusts welding equipment and tooling according to work specifications.
  • Completes housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area on a daily basis and/or when required.
  • Ensures assigned work is understood prior to commencing.
  • Reports all non-conforming material to the department Supervisor immediately.
  • Mentors and trains apprentices.
  • Complies with standards and procedures of PTW's health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Three years of work experience in the trade. Some college or industry courses in welding are considered an asset.
  • Interprovincial trade certification (Red Seal) an asset.
  • Specialization in structural construction welding considered an asset.
  • Ensures all required CWB qualifications are current.
  • Possesses solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories.
  • Possesses knowledge of pre-heat and post-heat temperatures and applications.

TICKETS REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation.
  • Must have CSA approved safety boots.
  • Must supply hand tools.
