PTW is hiring Automation Technicians/Programmers to join our team for a project near Ft. McMurray, AB!


  • Participates as an integral contributor of the conceptual design, programming, and testing of PLC based projects.
  • Submits Design and cost findings to management for approval.
  • Implements system design in compliance with engineering principles, approval agencies, company standards, customer contract requirements and other required specifications.
  • Provides quality control support through the proper program testing, in-house FAT and external SIFT tests as required through PTW’s QC program.
  • Supports plant automation, gas compressor controls, and SCADA systems.
  • Provides technical assistance in the form of drawings review, standards and documentation upgrades.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs field communication systems and resolves design and test problems.
  • Prepares completion reports and work tickets.


  • Must have a minimum of 10 years experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and a 3-year driver's abstract is required. 
  • Must be reliable and dependable (i.e.: punctual and ready to work).
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Must be able to take initiative, work independently as well as in a team.
  • A demonstrated ability to work safely. 
  • Must be willing to complete a pre-access D&A Test.
