Position Summary
Reporting to the Shipping Manager, the Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Shipping Manager with supervision and ensuring customer orders are sent with the correct products and components
Key Responsibilities
- Reads and communicates order specifications to the work team, picks and packages products for shipment.
- Maintains and operates forklift and other material handling devices in a safe and efficient manner.
- Verifies safety equipment is available, and confirms the use of proper safety equipment, including mandatory PPE. Informs the Shipping Manager when new safety equipment or training is required.
- Assists in the review of job hazard assessments with work team prior to commencement of a job.
- Assists in the training of new Shipping team members.
- Ensures the requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Acts for documentation, packaging and labelling of packages containing dangerous goods regulated there under are complied with fully.
- Provides the Purchaser with complete information on overages/shortages or damaged materials.
- Maintains files of receiving documents, material return slips and any WHMIS documents related to products or materials processed through the receiving area.
- Ensures daily inspections of forklift and/or other equipment are completed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
- Complies with standards and procedures of PTW’s health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Beginner to intermediate skills using Microsoft products i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (i.e., standing, walking, and lifting *see physical demands assessment).
- Forklift certification is an asset.
- Experienced with proper rigging and overhead crane is an asset.
- Proficient in identifying materials by dimensions.
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks quickly.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Communicates information and ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively

- Must be approachable and have a positive attitude
