Delivery Driver/Yard Personnel

PTW is a trusted industrial and commercial contractor in Calgary, specializing in high-quality welding and fabrication.
We are currently looking for a Delivery Driver/Yard Personnel to join our team.
The Delivery Driver/Yard Personnel employee is responsible for executing local deliveries and pickups to construction sites and other vendor yards. For executing driving responsibilities, the ideal candidate will operate a 1-ton flat deck (30’ in length) with a gooseneck trailer. When driving duties are not required to be performed, the employee will assist the sheet metal team in performing yard maintenance activities and shipping/receiving duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle and execute local deliveries and pickups in the construction sites and other vendor yards.
- Operate a 1-ton flat deck (30’) with gooseneck trailer.
- Receive and unload parts, finished goods, and returned goods.
- Inspect incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and inspect for damaged goods.
- Assists in shipping and receiving as required, performing manual labour as necessary.
- Ensures housekeeping is completed in assigned area(s).
- Places hazard warning signs (e.g. signposts, cones) for vehicles and passersby.
- Reports any observed damages to materials and/or equipment to the manager.
- Operates the forklifts and loaders where needed, if properly certified.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
- Complies with standards and procedures of PTW’s health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Must have at least 2+ years experience driving in an industrial commercial facility and/or delivering to customer sites.
- Previous experience shunting gooseneck trailers
- Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing an asset
- Forklift certification is an asset.
- Overhead crane certification is an asset.
- Ability to follow instructions
- Positive and energetic person with a strong affinity for teamwork.
- Experience working on a construction site.
- Commitment to safety rules.
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Must be able to provide a class 5 license and acceptable driver’s abstract dated less than 30 days.
- Must have CSA approved safety boots.
- Overtime required as needed for production activities.
